Hi Judy, I couldn't agree more. The reality is, as per the article in the link, I worry that this may be more of a temporary political stunt than anything else. The messaging does little to alleviate people's unnecessary fear of the Omicron variant. It also leaves the door wide open to try to reinstitute unnecessary measures should a new wave occur, which is almost guaranteed to happen for an endemic virus like this that is prone to mutating over time. However, it is certainly a move in the right direction and my hope is that a 'temporary' removal of the passport will make it much more difficult to implement it again. The taste of freedom will make people much less willing to have a tyrannical mandate reintroduced. Relief from mandates will give us precious time to convince more people with the science that the virus has reached a point where we no longer need to treat it as anything other than something like the colds and flus and other respiratory infections that we have lived with our whole lives. Once these rules are gone for good, we absolutely must replace the people that implemented them or we'll never be safe in the future; if not SARS-CoV-2, they will eventually find another reason to do this all over again.

Don't underestimate the irrationality and psychoses of the Globalist monsters who engineered COVID as the means to their end of totalitarian enslavement of the population of the planet under the new WHO push to take control of all medical systems on earth, and the subsequent mass depopulation/genocide they are planning. Those people have no intention of giving in because that would make them vulnerable to execution for Crimes Against Humanity

Still lots of work to be done - Alberta should drop all mandates effective immediately! Thank you for working tirelessly to help make this happen.

Amazing work on this Byram. Looks like us scientists do a better job and writing news than the news media. Too bad they can't work in a lab to give the scientists more time!!!!!

Would you trust the media to work in a lab? Or even sweep up the lab?

What will be the proof that will enable us to stop holding our breath? How will we know the central system is ‘down’ and will not go back up? Why pick a future date? Why not tomorrow?

Alberta is blessed to have Lieutenant Colonel David Redman, former head of Emergency Management in that province. I have got to know this man and he is a person of great knowledge, experience, and integrity. Many Canadians don't realize that public institutions across this country were required to come up with approved pandemic response plans after it became apparent that nobody knew how to respond properly to a pandemic after the 'false alarm' that was the swine flu pandemic of 2009. Remarkably, these were thrown out within the first week or two of the current declared pandemic. Canadians need to see these documents. Taxpayers invested heavily into the consultation with experts during the drafting of these plans. Interestingly, the appropriate responses described therein look nothing like what our governments and public health officials have done! Lieutenant Colonel David Redman has customized Alberta's former pandemic response plan to map a safe, logical, and rapid way out of the current fiasco. It is my understanding that he may begin to promote this next week. If we can get those in charge to adopt his plan, then I will be confident that 'central system' can no longer cause acute harm. However, I will only be confident that such a change is permanent once many of our political, medical, media, legal, and educational structures are gutted and replaced with people of integrity. This is going to take a long time and a lot of hard work. We cannot remain complacent with the mere removal of the current mandates.

Dr. Bridle, thanks so much for your thoughtful response. At least a year ago, I watched and shared one of Lieut Col Redman’s videos. He beautifully articulated the need for a multi-faceted response, an emergency response that revealed that the best approach was a coherent and integrated approach that considered impact on all aspects of our social systems and communities. YES, Canadians DO need to see these documents! Perhaps they will be seen in a new, appreciative light, like the Great Barrington Declaration.

Maybe this moment, the trucker-led clarion call for freedom, enables us to differentiate between those who are UNWITTINGLY complicit (a product of fear, uncertainty and coercion) and those who are UNCOMFORTABLY complicit (get it, but don’t know how to speak up or stop) and those who are CONSCIOUSLY or intentionally supporting or pushing the agenda.

It’s such a confusing time, and we Canadians have almost infinite faith in our public institutions - “they” wouldn’t do that? It’s not until people bark their shins on a restriction that affects them personally and profoundly that they can look upstream and understand that our dearly held Canadian values and freedoms are genuinely at risk. There will be governance work for a life-time.

I live in Alberta, and for some strange, nagging reason, I'm not quick to celebrate just yet

I hear you and agree. Please see my response to Judy. We are far from 'out of the woods', but headed in the right general direction.

I am so happy to have found your substack. Please keep writing! Thank you for reporting on the Ottawa convoy. The MSM narrative is frightening for many reasons and I check Twitter to see what is actually happening on the ground there. My mind struggles to reconcile the two narratives.

Wanted to share, it has been a long hard road (as it has been for many of us) but I saw a news clip with you speaking out about kids being unable to participate in sports and it helped a lot to hear that.

In regards to the mandates/passports I agree safeguards must be put into place so they can’t easily be reactivated. Now that the infrastructure is in place for the QR Codes they could easily be used for something else. For the next state determined emergency. Etc.
